The past three weeks have been an experience of a lifetime. Not only did
we (husband) and I greatly improve our Spanish, it provided us the
opportunity to get to know our adopted country. (We are permanent
residents of La Paz, BCS.)
Our host family - mother and two teenage daughters were outstanding. We
had an apartment separate from the family. However, we ate all of our
breakfasts with the family.
The school is located in the historical part of Cuernavaca. The location
was one of the reasons we picked this particular school. We wanted to be
within walking distance to all of the wonderful sights and sounds of
this historical city. Our expectations were exceeded. Within two blocks
of the school, we visited Cortez's Palace and museum, the cathedral, the
Borda Gardens, the Morelos Theater, The Robert Brady house and museum
etc.
During the investigation stage of which of the many Spanish language
schools in Cuernavaca to choose, I wrote to two prior students for their
comments. Their personal recommendations about the quality of teaching,
the location of the school and all of the cultural activities after
classes and during the weekends were instrumental on our picking CICU.

CICU has a prime location because of its proximity to the
center of town, markets, restaurants, and multiple sites of interest.
The director has a 'hands-on' approach to running the CICU
program and his response to questions or needs is immediate. He and the
instructors are real people who have a dedicated interest in the success
and well being of their students. They will go out of their way to
assist students and insure their stay in Cuernavaca is comfortable and
their learning experience is positive. A weekly schedule blends culture,
tours, and social activities into the curriculum to produce an appealing
calendar of events for students. Classes are organized and run on time
although Gino and the instructors can be flexible and allow for
adjustments as needed. Janet Schmidt.

I am very satisfied
with the pace of the course and its content. I felt that the teachers
adapted the program to my three week stay. Now I have a
full perspective of the various tenses and verbs; this was my objective.
My advice to future students: Come to Cuernavaca and enjoy. There
is a good balance between introduction to the Spanish language and the
Mexican Culture.

CICU is a GREAT
program for anyone who wants to learn Spanish, regardless of how much
they already know. The staff is warm, flexible, and genuinely
compassionate -- they really care about the well-being of their students!
The classes are excellent for students of all levels and the trips are
great. I cannot imagine a better way to learn Spanish! Bret Polish - High School Teacher/Musician - California |

My stay was very confortable and enjoyable
because I could interact not only with family members but also with other
foreign and Mexican students staying with my host family.
The school is located in the city center so
it was convenient to do shopping, etc. Teachers are very knowledgeable and
I learned a lot about Mexican society and culture.
In addition to Spanish lessons I could
visit museums and other city atractions and had lunch with my teachers....

"The instruction was first-class! My teacher could
not have been better. She was well-prepared every day, and she was ready to teach those
aspects of the language that I needed to learn the most. (If you come to
this school) it will make your efforts worthwhile. Also, you should know
that the director, Gino, is a very concerned, commited,
and devoted
worker. I was most grateful for his concern about my own safety and
convenience as well as the safety and convenience of all of his students.
Working with him has been very pleasant. My host family was very kind. I don't
think they could have made me feel more welcomed than they did. I was very
grateful for
everything. The food was excellent, the people were terrific, and the
rooms were very good.
